Turn off your PCs!

I've mentioned it before: we're always trying to use less energy, less material... use and reuse things as many times as possible!

You will often find some Calin Bleu fabric scraps, shipping boxes, shredded paper on our local Freecycle, and they're usually gone before the day ends. If you're in the Glasgow area and you need boxes, give us a call.

I'm also pleased to say that in 2 years of trading, we've only had to buy shipping boxes once, everything else is reused.

Our suppliers know that we prefer they send us used boxes instead of using new ones. Several retailers might have been surprised to receive their order in a box marked "Wine", they are the perfect size for some of their orders!

One thing we do need is computers, and we need them to run fast and be upgraded frequently so that we can make the most of our working day.

Since most computer parts can't be recycled, we choose to sell or donate them so at least they can get a second life until they are discarded.

Today I came across this report that most people leave their PC on at night costing 14.4 million metric tons of CO2 and $1.72 Billion.

So come on, let's all make and effort and all turn off our computers at night!

Catch That Goat: images of babies in slings

I was reading our daughter a story last night and spotted a lovely drawing of a mum carrying a child on her back while working.

The story of Catch that Goat is set in Nigeria. Ayoka is left in charge of the goat while mum goes to the market. Within minutes the goat escapes and the little girl tries to find him.

So here we are, welcome to this new category of our blog where we'll spot the images of carried everywhere!

New photos of the Cool Wrap baby sling

Our photo shoot for the new baby slings was yesterday, it went really well.

A big thank you to Katya and Poppy, Angela and Logan for their patience. You can see the results on the site.
The photos still need to be edited but they'll give you a better idea of what your wraparound sling will look like.

Enjoy!

Remember - you're always welcome to send us your photos of your Calin Bleu Baby Sling in action, we'll be happy to add it to the photo gallery.

New step by step instructions for you baby sling

As promised, we are adding more step by step instructions showing you how to use your wraparound sling.

Today is the Simple Cross Carry.

The Simple Cross Carry is a variation of the traditional carrying position. It is nice and easy to pop baby in and out of the wraparound sling without untying everything.

Since this carry uses a little bit less fabric, it is convenient for parents of different sizes who share the same wrap and for whom the wrap is too short for the wrap cross carry.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate, just get in touch with us!
