Turn off your PCs!

I've mentioned it before: we're always trying to use less energy, less material... use and reuse things as many times as possible!

You will often find some Calin Bleu fabric scraps, shipping boxes, shredded paper on our local Freecycle, and they're usually gone before the day ends. If you're in the Glasgow area and you need boxes, give us a call.

I'm also pleased to say that in 2 years of trading, we've only had to buy shipping boxes once, everything else is reused.

Our suppliers know that we prefer they send us used boxes instead of using new ones. Several retailers might have been surprised to receive their order in a box marked "Wine", they are the perfect size for some of their orders!

One thing we do need is computers, and we need them to run fast and be upgraded frequently so that we can make the most of our working day.

Since most computer parts can't be recycled, we choose to sell or donate them so at least they can get a second life until they are discarded.

Today I came across this report that most people leave their PC on at night costing 14.4 million metric tons of CO2 and $1.72 Billion.

So come on, let's all make and effort and all turn off our computers at night!
