Christmas fair in Glasgow

Calin Bleu will be present this weekend at Theo's Cafe Christmas Fair.
You will find arts and crafts, beautiful hand knitted booties from New Zealand, hand made cards, Felt toys and bags and of course, our baby carriers.

See you there this Saturday and Sunday from 11am.

Correct position for newborns in a baby carrier

The Baby Wearer has a very interesting new article on the baby's position in the sling, especially for newborns.
The photos are very helpful.

The topic came up in a conversation with a customer today and I thought others might find it interesting as well.

You need to register to access the baby wearer (top right corner) but it's free and it's the biggest resource to learn about baby carriers on the net.

New photos for the micro fleece slings

We have some new photos for the micro fleece baby carrier.
I've been meaning to take those for a while but never got around it. Finally one of our lovely customers couldn't make up her mind between the red and the black ludo fleece baby carrier and asked for better photos.

I must say I'm delighted to see how they came out.

New shopping cart ...

You may have noticed over the past few months that our website was very slow.
We're taking action and replacing the shopping cart. The new one should be much faster, making it a nicer shopping experience.

We're in the final stages, now installing the French version of the site.

We had a lot of fun last Sunday. 7 families met up in Glasgow to try each other slings, and for the 2 couples expecting their first baby in December, it was an opportunity to try the slings and decide on their first purchase.

Try a sling in Glasgow?

If you want to try a sling in Glasgow, Scotland, join us on Sunday November 19th at the St Enoch Play Centre from 11am.
You can get all the details from Sling Meet
Between us, we have pretty much every type of sling you can think of: ring sling, mei tai, soft carrier (ergo..), pouch, and of course wrap slings.
It's the opportunity to try various slings, to learn how to carry your little one, get some help to pop him/her on your back and to share a fun moment with other parents.

A green-er christmas

Imagine the mountains of wrapping paper wasted at Christmas and throughout the year!

It can't be good for the environment ... so here they are again, the Calin Bleu reusable fabric gift bags.
They are sold individually or by pack of 10, assorted colours and sizes.
They are tied with a ribbon of matching or contrasting colours

You can use them throughout the year for birthdays, party bags, take their little things to nursery.

New pictures and new wraps

We didn't like having just the swatch photos, it was difficult to imagine what the wrap would look on yourself.
So now it is: our new photos with the help of a mannequin. Shown here is the black and turquoise designer wrap.
We still have a few photos to take but we hope that you will like them too.

New to Calin Bleu is a delicious candy dot designer sling. The background is navy. As usual the micro fleece is soft, comfortable and ideal for all the winter babies.
They make great new baby presents or christmas presents.

Where have we been?

The blog has been a bit quiet lately but there are lots of things happening!

First I visited the London Baby Show in Earl's Court. It was a lovely but exhausting day, met with lots of sling mums, showed some of them how to carry their baby on their back, met with Stephanie of Zolowear, Gideon at Wilkinet, Stuart of Free Range Kids was showing the Ergo, Laura of Brighspark Slings... A fantastic day and so many slings to play with!

You might have noticed that the website is fairly empty, we are making a few tiny changes to the wraps and they'll be back. We are also working on the new gauze wrap colours. If there is a colour you would like to see next spring, email us, call us, send us a swatch, a piece of paper, anything really and we can match it.
If we choose the colour you suggested, you will win a FREE sling! Yes, a free wrap!

We are also improving the website. You may have noticed that it has become very slow. We are installing a new shopping cart, it will take a little while but it will be worth it.
